19 year old soldier

I am a 19 year old boy soldier in World War II. Im here to fight but i guess i didnt know what i was getting my self into when i signed up for this. I guess all those posters with pretty ladies on them had an impact on me, i thought they would think i was tough, but this is really scary. I just keep my head up high and just think about when this is all over how much respect i will get from everyone. Know that i played my part in fighting for what i needed too, hoping that ill be making history one day, and hoping that i dont get killed. I have to admit im scared more than 90 percent of the time. It all began in September and it is now June and this war is global. I am just a regular American boy impacted by the war. The sight of dead bodies haunt me at night but i just try and block those thought out. Try to become a man and a hero while fighting for my life, trying to stay alive.

Life in the Great Depression

During the Great Depression their was no money sparing food and almost no jobs to be found. The stocks had crashed making the people extremely upset not to mention poor. Can you imagine... just recently we had a tough time in out stocks resulting in losing thousands of dollars, but can you imagine losing it all. That was how it was for the people back then. Eventually the men began to believe that it was there faults that they could have stopped it or changed it in some way, but the couldnt. They were with out jobs and food and some were even living in there cars, or trying to sell there cars. 25,000 banks failed from the start of the depression in 1929 to the end around 1939. The Great Depression is an accurate name for that time period, this being because it was the worst depression ever in the US or anywhere at that. To many people unemployed with families to feed and too many people in need of jobs, and no one had a penny to give.

The Great Depression

I think that the most important thing to the Great Depression was unstable international debt structure. This was the base of why this tragedy even happened. After the credit card was introduced to many people began spending money that they did not have not only the US but European countries also. The banks went under and the stocks crash and people were out of jobs and money; resulting in the Great Depression. All of this happened because of the fact that the US had and unstable international debt structure, and did not know how do deal with the situation other than to panic and close down all of the banks. If this was more stable, im not saying that this would have never happened, but i am saying that it could have been dulled tremendously. Eventually we come up with a system wear we give money to Europe so that they can pay off Britian and France so that they inturn can repay us. not really leaving us with more that we started with, but a help to the international debt.

Progressivism

Progressivism in the early 1900's included alot of things dealing with women. Women began working alot more and getting different jobs some including telephone operators and others being housewives. The war about to occur so women on the job was a lot more common and this was a very proggressive thing. During this time women also got the right to vote, now this was a huge step in progressivism. This was a time were women were now becoming hirer and more respected. In the early 1900's alot of thing happened to make this a Progressive Era this just being a few. Others included The New Deal, Klu Klux Klan, birth control, etc.
